Mrs. Opal M. Pearson, surrounded
by family went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Sept.5,2011 in her home.
Opal Marie Pearson, was born March 15, 1923 in Berwyn, Oklahoma to Reeford Johnson and Beulah Wade. She attended Sunset School in Bristow, Oklahoma. During her youth she was fondly known by family as "Red." Her intimate relationship with Christ began at an early age and she was a faithful servant. Opal was a devoted member of the Worldwide Church Of God for over 40 years and her love for God knew no boundaries. Her life was centered around God and sharing Him with her family. Opal had a strong personality, a loving spirit and she left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Throughout her life, her love for God was expressed in different ways through her love for people. Opal had a reputation for "good cooking and a good whipping." You were sure to get fed if you stopped by for a visit and, without apology, she applied discipline to her own children and many others. Opal worked in a domestic capacity for a few years but her primary position was homemaker, where she nourished the lives of her family and friends. Opal met and married L.C. Paul Pearson on April 4, 1942. They both loved living off the land and had a farm that they diligently maintained until their health began to decline. To this union 5 children were born: Patricia Pearson of Oklahoma City, OK, Paul Pearson Jr. (Sharon ) of Oklahoma City, OK, Shirley Bart (Marcel) of Miami, Florida, Gail Hunt (Paul) of Yukon, OK, and Linda Pearson of Houston, TX. Opal departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2011 in Haskell, Oklahoma. Family members preceding her in death were both parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband of 69 years, L.C., four sisters and a brother: Mary Helen Wiley, Gloria Lee Greenhoward, Flora Ann Jackson, Beulah Ford and Drewy Johnson; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
