Alice Elizabeth
Jones
July 27, 1952 – February 3, 2026
On July 27, 1952, in the rural area of Haskell, OK, a beautiful baby girl was born to John and Lorene Wilson Sr. She was the eight child of thirteen children. She had a lively and active childhood as mom had her involved in church at an early age. Seeking what she felt was the closeness of God as a little girl, she joined Cherryville Baptist Church, Boynton, OK and was baptized. She grew up and became active in Sunday school, a member of the Starlight Band, BTU, choir and participated in all the other programs at Cherryville Baptist Church. That active involvement led her to increase her faith in God.
In her younger years, Alice held various jobs. Her job as a nurse aide increased her love for Christ and deepened her spirit for caring for others. In caring for others, she met a young man named Herschell Earl Grayson. They married, and to the union, God blessed them with a healthy baby boy, Herschell Edward Grayson. Time brought about change and they divorced. However, she kept her faith in God and He kept her strong with a smile on her face and in good spirit. The closeness to God that she felt as a little girl continued and increased throughout her adulthood.
Alice would continue God's work at Cherryville until she moved her membership to First Baptist Church -Rentiesville, Rentiesville OK. Alice was a devoted Christian, who loved to read the Bible, sing in the choir, and talk about the goodness of God. She was a loving, giving, kind-hearted person, and did not meet a stranger.
Alice's life experiences led her to become a caretaker for members of her family and for the community. Whether it was cooking a hot meal, cleaning, assisting in some capacity, listening, or being a taxi driver for those in need of transportation. She was there to help with a loving smile. She was a "Silent Warrior".
Alice's gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She put in the work by the way she treated others. And her legacy of love will live on through those she cherished and touched.
