On April 18th, 1936, in Muskogee, OK, a beautiful baby girl was born to the union of Lucius and Alverta Sanders.  They named her Anna Mae, who was affectionately known as "Mutdear" (Mother Dear).  In her early childhood, she attended school in Okmulgee, OK, then later participated in Moton Public Schools in Taft, OK.  She accepted Christ early and was baptized in Okmulgee, OK.

She later reunited her relationship with the Lord and attended First Baptist Church in Taft, OK.  A hard worker since an early age, Anna Mae began her career with the State of Oklahoma in 1963 and retired in 1997 after over 34 years of dedicated service.  She also raised livestock while working for the state and after she retired.  Anna Mae made her transition to heaven Thursday, June 16th, 2022.  She is reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents, Lucius and Alverta Sanders; two sons Roderick Culton Sr. and Emery Shaw; one sister Ida Bell Collins; two brothers, Rudolph Sanders Sr. and Lucius Bob Sanders; and an exceptional friend Robert Scott.  Her three daughters survive Anna Mae: Debra Culton of Taft, OK; Brenda Lee of Bethany, OK; and Henrietta Finch of Muskogee, OK; 13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  Anna Mae was someone you could depend on in your time of need.

We know we cannot have you, but we're happy that the angels finally have you back.  Goodbye to a beautiful person, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Timothy Baptist Church, 5530 W. Okmulgee,  Muskogee, OK.  Public visitation, Tuesday, June 28th, in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, during the hours of 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
