On December 15, 1952 in Boynton, OK; a bouncing baby boy made his appearance into the lives of Yvonne Sanders and Elias Jones. They named him Bennie Bernard Jones, but friends and family called him, "Trippy."
Trippy, received his formal education in Boynton, OK; at Wheatley and Boynton High School. Trippy attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee, OK; and studied architectural design. In1985, Trippy became a Certified Car Detailer working in Oklahoma City for 10 years and then moving to Okmulgee, OK; working at Ausbrooks for over twenty years, until his passing.
When Trippy wasn't working, he loved visiting with his mom, other family members and friends, always giving smiles and joy wherever he appeared. His favorite pastime was horse racing. He had been a jockey earlier in life.
Trippy once said, "When I die, I want everybody to be happy. I had a good life!"
Preceding him in death are his father, Elias Jones, six uncles and four aunts.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Yvonne Sanders, one sister, Francine (Ronnie) Motte, one brother, Lewis (LaSonya) Hanson II, all of Okmulgee, OK; his children, Janaya Jones; Tulsa, OK; Banita Jones, Tyson Jones, both of Shawnee, OK, Cassandra Jones, Tulsa, OK; Marcus Pruitt, Oklahoma City, OK; Gary Jones, Okmulgee, OK; Bennie Jones Jr., McAlester, OK; three aunts, Viola Sanders, Boynton, OK; Sara Cole, Muskogee, OK; and Victoria Sanders, Tulsa, OK; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a special son, Marquis White, along with other relatives and friends.
A Home Going Service will be conducted, Saturday, October 17, 2015, 11:00 a.m., Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boynton, OK. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery, Boynton, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
