Bertha Mae
(Oakley) Bradley
January 10, 1929 – May 20, 2017
Bertha M. (Oakley) Bradley was the eldest of sixteen children, born to Rev. Norman and Roberta Oakley on January 10, 1929, in New Hope, Oklahoma. She attended New Hope school through 8 th grade, then attended Manual Training High School graduating in the class of 1947 as a secretary of the class. After graduation, she married her Senior classmate and boyfriend, the late Louis "Peabody" Bradley. She has served as a faithful member of Antioch Church of Muskogee for over 60 years.
She attended Practical Nursing School immediately after graduation and worked 30 years at Muskogee General Hospital in the newborn nursery. Bertha worked endless hours taking care of her husband and children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. Bradley; her son, Louis P. Bradley Jr.; her parents, Rev. Norman and Mrs. Roberta Oakley and her sisters', Autrie Holly and Verlee Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory ten children: Lawrence Bradley and Cynthia Little and family of Muskogee; Terry Bradley and Ruby Butler and family of Muskogee; Charles Bradley and family of Muskogee; Michael and Brenda Bradley of Muskogee; Debra Smith and family of Oklahoma City; Annetta and Duane Chatman of Muskogee; Sarahetta Brown and family of Oklahoma City; Frankie and Clifford Vann of Muskogee; Ronald and Evita Bradley of Barstow, CA; Reginald Bradley of Muskogee and Martha Randall of California. Her siblings: Bobbie King; Margie Oakley, Charles and Margret Oakley; Marvin and Marie Oakley; Arma Lene and Vernell Redo; Bhavani Indu; Claretha Carter; Brenda and Wayne Brown; Bashir Imhotep; Tejuana Sallis; LaTressia and Lawrence Thompson; and Alinda Mathis. Twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren, with a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Antioch Church of Muskogee, 500 W. Broadway Ave., Muskogee, OK; with interment to follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.
Public Visitation will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
A Wake will be held Monday, 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family has been cared for House of Winn Funeral Home & Cremations.
