Billy Joe Sanford was born October 13, 1948, in Okmulgee County to the proud parents, Carthus and Joella (Love) Sanford. He was the first child born to this union.

Billy graduated from the historic Dunbar High School in Okmulgee, Ok. He enlisted in the United States Army in l966. Billy was honorably discharged May 9, 1970. He was a Vietnam Veteran.

After serving his country he graduated from OSU-Okmulgee Tech with an upholstery degree.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.

Those left to cherish his memory include brothers, Carthus (Gwen) Sanford, Jr., Ronald Gene (Sylvia) Sanford, sisters, Stella (Henry) Harris, Julie Ann Sanford, Tracy Denise Mangum, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to his uncle, Clay Cowans.

Visitation will be Friday, February 3 ^rd , 2017 from 1:00 p. m. to 3:00 p.m.
