Obituary

Bobby Joe Belton, 69, a resident of Tulsa,OK formerly of Boynton,OK
passed away in his home, Monday,
Dec. 30,2013.

Bobby Joe Belton was born October 14, 1944 to Freddie and Blanche (Howell) Belton, Sr. He was the first of twelve children.

Bobby grew up in Boynton, Oklahoma where he attended Boynton Public Schools. He united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age, under the patronage of Rev. Phillips.

Upon reaching adulthood, Bobby met and married the love of his life, Joan Marie Townsell.

Bobby retired from many years as a custodian for Tulsa Public Schools.

His hobbies included playing dominoes, watching football and western movies, and hanging out with his many friends. Wherever Bobby was, he was always the center of attention.

He leaves behind a lifetime of love and happiness for all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Blanche Belton, one brother, Bernard Belton, two sisters, Joan Pouncil and Lucille Carter, and one niece, Evangelyn Pouncil.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife of 45 years, Joan of the home, two sons, Wayman Green, Philadelphia, PA; and William Gant, Houston, TX; two granddaughters, Celeste Green and Raquel Wade, three adopted grandchildren, Brandon and Linda Pickens and Ashley Stripling, six brothers, Freddie (Belinda) Belton, Oklahoma City, OK; Jerry (Georgiann) Belton and Dwight Belton, Boynton , OK; David (Sheryl) Belton, Mounds, OK; Jeffery (Sheryl) Tucker, Okmulgee, OK; Earl (Phyllis) Tucker III, Muskogee, OK; two sisters, Carolyn (Anthony) lee, Boynton, OK; Debra (Robert) Allen, Okmulgee, OK; along with many special friends, and numerous nieces, nephews and loving relatives.

A Home Going service will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2014, 2:00 p.m., Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boynton, OK; with Rev. Anthony Folks, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, 1 to 6 p.m.

The family has been cared for by the Winn family at Granger House of Winn Funeral Home.
