Brenda Kay Godfrey was born on May 8, 1953, in Roswell, New Mexico. She grew up in Keefeton, Oklahoma, and attended school in Warner, where she loved playing basketball and spending time with friends.

Brenda was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy in life was her family. As a stay-at-home mom, she poured her heart into raising her four sons. She loved cooking and made it a priority to gather everyone around the table for big family dinners whenever she could. Those meals were filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of love that made everyone feel at home.

She also enjoyed fishing and spending quiet time outdoors. Whether it was time with family, preparing a favorite meal, or simply being together, Brenda found happiness in life's simple moments.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmie Godfrey Sr. of Keefeton, Oklahoma; her sons, Anthony Godfrey of Keefeton, Phillip Godfrey of Muskogee, and William Godfrey of Keefeton; along with many brothers, sisters, grandsons, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mittie Mackey; her son, Jimmie Godfrey Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Alice Godfrey; and her brother, George Mackey III.

Brenda will be remembered for her love of family, her warm kitchen, her strength as a mother, and the steady presence she was in the lives of those who knew her.

A Graveside Service is scheduled, Thursday, March 5, 2026, 2:00 p.m., McClain Cemetery, Muskogee, OK
