On a cool Winter day in 1975, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Ruben and Chylene Sallis.  He was named Byron Latrell Sallis.

Following in the family tradition, Byron loved sports, often you find him fishing or playing baseball with his father and older brother, Ruben III.  He developed cooking skills from his mother and he loved to eat.

Byron attended Muskogee High School.  He graduated in 1991.  The family moved to Atlanta, Georgia for 10 years.  During that time, Byron attended Dental School Intermittently to become a dental Hygienist.

Those awaiting him with open arms in Glory: his Heavenly father, his mother Chylene, his father, Ruben II, his grandparents, Phillip and Geraldine Kelley, Ruben and Viola Sallis, his uncles, Keith and Norman Kelly and Danny Sallis.

Those remain to wait on the Lord; his brother, Ruben III, his uncles, Calvin Sallis (Susie), Sylvester Sallis (Lillie), Phillip and Lewis Kelly, his aunts, Tejuana Sallis, Levette, Patty and Panda Kelly.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation was the final disposition.

A Service of Memory is scheduled Saturday, March 21, 2026, 11:00 a.m., House of Winn Funeral Home & Cremations, "Precious Memories Chapel", 2200 Military Blvd., Muskogee, OK: with Rev. Phillip Kelley, delivering the eulogy.
