Obituary

Carl Edward Hollier, the fifth child born to Chester and Gustenia (Lyons) Hollier on July 9, 1947 in Okmulgee, OK.


He was baptized at an early age at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church where he was a faithful life time member. He graduated from Dunbar High School with the Class of 1966. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded two purple hearts and was honorably discharged.

In July 1970, he married the love of his life, Esther Marie Holbert. After working at Ball Brothers for 5 years, in 1974, he gained employment with Ford Glass Plant in Tulsa, OK; and retired after 30 years.

Carl was a jack of all trades and enjoyed welding, auto mechanics, gardening, horses, cows and his favorite cat, Fatgirl. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was the epitome of a great husband, father, grandfather, son and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Mary Hollier Stake, Willard Hollier, Charles Hollier, and Linwood Hollier.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Esther Hollier, of the home, two daughters, Tammi (Will) Allen, Broken Arrow, OK; and Carla Hollier and one grandson, Caden Michael, Okmulgee, OK; brother-in-law, Marland Holbert, Aberdeen, MD, sister-in-law, Myrtle Dennis, Okmulgee, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church, 808 E. 3rd Street, Okmulgee, OK; Father Joshua Litwack, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Precious Memories Chapel.

A Rosary will be held Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church.
