Obituary

In the year of 1933, God blessed Luther A. and Corillis (Jackson) Wilson with a baby boy on the twenty-seventh day of May. This handsome son was named Carmon Wilson. He was the ninth child born to this union. Carmon grew up in Okmulgee and graduated from the historic Dunbar School.

Carmon met a beautiful young lady, Juanita Grant, and they were married on October 25, 1952. Their love was blessed with seven children, Linda, Leatrice, Carmon Jr. (Dent), Arlene, Victor, Terry, and LaVida.

Carmon worked in construction for all of his adult life until retirement. After retirement, he raised cattle and even after suffering from a stroke, he continued to drive his tractor, haul hay, and do whatever else he needed to do to care for them. Our Mom used to say his cows was his second family.

On Monday night, September 6, 2021, just about 10:00 p.m., after 88 seasons, Carmon left  the life of "labor" for the life of "reward" from Muskogee Creek Nation Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers, Nathaniel, Lester B., Varnell, Curtis, Fred, Luther, Otis, Wardell, and an infant brother; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Carmon Jr. (Dent), and the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Juanita Wilson.

Carmon leaves in God's care: his loving children, Linda Payne, Leatrice (Gay) Talton, Arlene Wilson, and Terry Talton, all of Okmulgee, LaVida Christ Hayes of Savannah, TX, and Victor (Rayneka) Wilson, Sr., of Kansas City, KS; 32 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Jerusalem Baptist Church, Preston, OK  with Pastor Willie Antwine Jr. eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Okmulgee cemetery.  Visitation, Friday in the Precious Memories Chapel/House of Winn Funeral Home, during the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
