Charles Henry
Fuller
September 17, 1952 – January 22, 2017
Charles Henry Fuller left this earth and joined his Creator on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Born in Summit, Oklahoma, September 17, 1952, Charles was the only child of Napoleon C. and Mable Brown Fuller.
Charles began his education at St. Monica Catholic School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, he attended public school, attending Kumpf Elementary School and Paseo High. He graduated from Paseo in 1971.
He briefly attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City, UMKC, and then he began a twenty plus year career with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
After he retired he began a new career working as a Direct Support Service staff member, and supervisor, in residential service programs that provide care for Developmentally Disabled men and women. His co-workers, supervisors, and his clients, all loved his energy, smile, cooperativeness, wittiness, and willingness to be of service. And he always spoke highly of them all. At one point he worked for two agencies providing such services.
In his last position he was working at Preferred Family Health Care.
Charles was a loving and creative man with quick wit and a protective spirit who enjoyed rebuilding cars and electronic devices. When he was a teenager he did major rebuilding work on his mother's 1956 Chevy. He always has a car project going, or in the planning. He was an avid reader; books and magazines on things mechanical and electrical, were his favorite, but he was well rounded and often foraged into wide variety of subjects. In the age of the internet, he was able to research all sides of the many issues in which he was interested, and he certainly did.
Charles had many interests, but most of all, he loved his family.
Charles leaves in mourning his mother, Mable Fuller, his brothers, Willie G. Brown (and wife Roseline) of Oxnard, California, and Lonnie Fuller of Los Angeles, Ca., Mike Davis and his son Charles H. Fuller, II.
He also leaves to mourn his six grandchildren Kierra, Kevonn, Dorsey, Dezmond, Corinthius, Khalil all of Kansas City, Missouri; he leaves his 1 st cousins Ingrid Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dehavilind Gobel of Denver, Colorado and George Brown (and wife Jamesetta) of Wichita, Kansas; also three nephews Otieno Okatch (and wife Christina), Kevin Kilea, and Maatimu Brown; and two nieces, Malaika Briles (and husband Jason), and Daphne Kilea.
A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, February 4, 2017, 10:00 a.m., Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1228 W. Apache St., Tulsa, OK. Interment will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery, Boynton, OK.Visits: 0
