Chester
Thomas
June 11, 1953 – January 17, 2024
In June of 1953 a son was born to Florence Lee and Willie Lee Thomas of Rogers, Texas. They named him Chester Thomas. Chester was one of 12 children. He was the sixth oldest.
In 1977 Chester left Texas and found Lela Clayton. This union brought about 4 children, Jerome Hopkins, Kashika Thomas, Priscilla Griffith and Tina Thomas. Chester and Lela later took in Angie Warren, Tonya Warren and Jesse Warren.
Chester gave his life to Christ in 1990 and accepted his calling as a preacher. He became a pastor at Christ Holy Mission and later at the Rose of Sharon. Chester and Lela raised a host of children through their ministry.
Chester had 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. After 30 years of marriage Lela and Chester divorced. And this is when he met Sheila Roberts. Though no kids were born between the two Chester accepted Sheila children as his own. Chester loved helping people and enjoyed his employment at Incor.
Chester was preceded in death by his mother and father Willie Lee and Florence Thomas, his brother's Willie Thomas Jr, J.D Thomas, Joe Albert Thomas, BH Thomas and sister Joyce Thomas Toxey.
