Clifford (Clee) Gerardo Redd, Sr. (MGySgt- USMC) Retired
Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant Clifford Gerardo Redd, Sr. passed after a brief illness on

, 2018, at the age of 74 years in Los Angeles, California.
A native of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Clifford is a 1963 graduate of the Historic Dunbar High
School where he played tight end for the famed Dunbar Tigers. He joined the United States
Marine Corps shortly after high school graduation and spent 8 years on active duty serving in
Vietnam among other places. He was wounded in combat and is the recipient, among other
military honors, of

. A faithful and dedicated Marine, Clifford spent an additional 17 years in the U. S.
Marine Corps Forces Reserves where he retired honorably as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
Clifford earned the degree of Master Mason as a member of the James H. Wilson Masonic
Lodge #68. He retired in 2010 from a 36-year career with the United States Postal Service.
Clee had many hobbies, he was an avid and certified scuba diver and held a Black Belt in Kenpo
Karate. For all his travels and adventures though, he maintained a deep and abiding love for
Okmulgee, his hometown. As long as he was able, he never let a year pass without planting his
feet in the rich, red soil of his birthplace.
He is preceded in death by his parents Faye Redd, Sr. and Bernice Redd, and siblings Roberta Williams,
Virginia Redd, Faye Redd, Jr., and Alberta Jones.
A devoted father, Clifford is survived by his son, Clifford Redd, Jr. of Hanford, CA and
daughter, Kapiolani Redd of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by siblings Rosa Rembert
(Orrin), Levada Redd, Roy Redd, George Redd and Sharon Redd Gregg (Tommie) along with a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, June 9, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Macedonia Baptist Church, 1029 N. Sioux Street, Okmulgee, OK. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
