Obituary

Clyde Williams, 73, a resident of Muskogee,
passed away, Saturday, June 14, 2014 in OSU Medical Center, Tulsa,OK.

In the twinkling of an eye our dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, slipped quietly from this world.

Clyde Alvin Williams was born to Gilloe and Corene Williams on October 21, 1940. He was one of four children born to this union.

At an early age he united with Little Rose Baptist Church.

Clyde was a 1958 graduate of the historical Manual Training High School. After graduation he went on to join the United States Air Force, where he served 26 years. He retired in May 1984. After retiring from the armed forces, he made his home in Shreveport, LA. He worked and later retired from Specialty Oil Co. Due to the illness of his mother, Clyde moved back to Muskogee, OK; to take care of her.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Vernice Williams Johnson.

He is survived by his sons, Vaughn (Elena) Williams, Phoenix, AZ; Brent R. Williams, Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Jesse D. and Ella M. Williams, two sisters, Dorothy (Jackson) James, Muskogee, OK; Marian Hankins, Tulsa, OK; eight nieces and nephews along with many great nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Friday, June 20, 2014, 10:00 a.m., Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 902 Rutherford, Muskogee, OK; with Gregory Fields, eulogizing. Interment to follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.

The family has been cared for by Granger-House of Winn Funeral Home.
