Cordell J. Jones, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, OK; passed away, Friday, January 25, 2024.  Cordell was born January 1, 1944 in Okmulgee, OK; to the late Nathaniel Jones, Sr. and Lorene (Grenchan) Jones.

Cordell graduated from Dunbar High School with the Class of 1961 then he matriculated to entry level computer training at PPG Industries in Henryetta, OK.  For many years, Cordell worked as a Computer Specialist for PPG Industries, Rockwell International, Lockeed Industries and the infamous "Skunk Works", finally retiring in Okmulgee.

In 1970, Cordell met the love of his life, Marie Stevens in Columbus, Ohio.

Cordell went home to Glory to reunite with his parents, sister, Margarete Burris, brother, Nathaniel Jones, Jr., nephew, Kevin Baldwin and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survivors include his wife, Marie, daughter Lorena Stevens, son, Donald Wooden, nieces, Lavonne Moore, Demetrice (Terry) Tuggle, Sylvia (Bryan) Cooper and Rhonda Simpson, nephew, Keith Baldwin and numerous nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted Saturday, February 3, 2024, 10:00 a.m., St. Matthew Baptist Church, 1001 E. Chicago Street, Okmulgee, OK; with Rev. Ronald Smith eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
