January 19, 1930 – March 15, 2022
Beloved Mother, Wife, and Missionary. She was born the third daughter to parents Olister and Sadie Thompson.
She spent her childhood in Okmulgee, OK where she received her foundation of faith. She later relocated to Tulsa, OK where she met and married the love of her life, late husband Houston Hopkins. They were blessed with a son Leonard Terry Hopkins who blessed her with 2 daughters, Andrea Dawn and Amber Rose and 6 great grandchildren.
Corine later became a teacher and missionary appointed by State Mother Missionary Gaines within the Church of God in Christ. She was a member of Page Memorial Temple COGIC until her health prevented her from attending.
She spent her leisure time decorating, re-decorating and shopping at antique stores which brought her much fulfillment.
Corine is preceded in death by 12 siblings, Calvin, Zelvin, Olister Jr., Jesse Edward, James, Celister, Isiah, Isaac, Leon, Enora, Berneice, and Catherine. Corine leaves 1 sibling, Elder Theopolis Thompson, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Home Going celebration will be conducted on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Church of God In Christ, 1019 S Florida Ave, Okmulgee, OK, with Supt. Pastor Everett Rainey delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Gibson Station, OK. Public visitation will be on Friday, March 25th in the Precious Memories Chapel, House of Winn Funeral Home-Okmulgee during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Mask wearing is mandatory at all services.
