Cornelius Eugene
Harper, Jr.
June 23, 1979 – December 23, 2024
On June 23, 1979, a handsome bouncing baby boy was born to Brigitte and Cornelius Harper Sr. Cornelius AKA "Lil Nip" or "Nippy" accepted Christ and was baptized at Old Agency Baptist Church at an early age; singing in the choir and reciting many Christmas and Easter speeches.
He attended public school in the Muskogee, Okmulgee, Tulsa and Haskell districts, where he excelled in track, football, basketball and was the "class clown". He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic. Nippy went on to attend Tulsa Community College with thoughts of becoming a Probation Officer.
Later in life Cornelius found his love for cooking by watching Grandma Rosie in the kitchen. Cornelius has a Servants heart. Nippy enjoyed helping others. Nippy did not have a selfish bone in his body. He was always the peacemaker. He blessed his family and friends whether it was by cooking, watching their kids or whatever else was needed. Being around the children is what he considered life. Outside of his love for cooking. He could be found fishing, building model cars, playing video games, fixing cars or simply just relaxing with the family.
Nippy had a special love for the children. Even though he had a loving spirit; everyone knew not to call him "Corn" or offer him corn or cornbread- those were the foods he hated. Cornelius had a special love for people and a fierce fighting spirit that never gave up until the end.
Meeting Cornelius at the Gates of Heaven will be his Paternal Grandparents Herbert and Rosie Harper; Maternal Grandparents Clarence and Kay Chambers; Uncle Herbert Harper Jr. and daughter Laura Ann and friends Arthur Nelson and J.T.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Brigitte Harper; his father Cornelius Harper Sr. and wife Melody; his sister Krystal Harper and children Jaydah, Kylah and Legend and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces and 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins and Paw Paw Cleveland Leffall.
