Cynthia Louise
Grayson
February 28, 1971 – March 9, 2023
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121: 1-2)
With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the family of Cynthia L. Grayson announce the passing of our loving, witty, generous, hospitable, servant, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Cynthia was surrounded by loving family when she transitioned into heaven on March 9, 2023. Jesus promised her a home over there. No more sickness, sorrow pain or care.
Cynthia Louise Grayson was born February 28, 1971 to Norman J. Grayson and Carolyn D. Love. Cyndi came into the world with a leader's heart and determination to try and make everyone she met feel special, loved and cared for. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. church, she attended Franklin Elementary, West Junior High and graduated from Carter G. Woodson class of "1989" and she attended Vo-Tech for computer science. She was blessed to be encircled by many faithful and "stick together" friends, Donna Bateman, Kira, Stephanie, Red, Angie, Renee, Ron Jr., Tosha, Tina. They played hard, laughed much and shared the good and bad. Then came special friends Annie Mae and Kay. There's a place for me beyond, beyond the sky, brothers and sisters there is one for you.
Cyndi's love for perfection in Culinary Arts and her gift for design always produced delicious, savory, meals and special dishes. She worked for close to 10 years at Salvation Army. She graciously fed anyone at the MLK Center, Gospel Rescue Mission and her home. Her toils were love! Cindy shopped, thrifted, dressed folk and decorated a home better than any paid fashion designer or home interior decorator. Weekends from sunrise to sunset her dad, Norman would be found accompanying her and helping to fill the truck or trunks. There's a place in heaven prepared for me when the toils of life are over, where the saints are clothed in white!
Cyndi's biggest joy and most pleasing part of her life was her children and grandchildren! They never wanted for anything, they were treated like kings and princesses, they will always know that they are loved!
You could hear Cyndi on Columbus Street or at the basketball game cheering Sidney to the hoop or calling him in for a "momma knows best talk". At the football stadiums, she was encouraging and cheering Sid'trell for so many touch downs. Football fields didn't get a break, she stepped right in and yelled, laughed, and pushed Keondre' down and over that winning goal line. Well, she had basketball and football and just to keep the ball rolling, Kiara stepped to that plate and took the bat, softball fields in Oklahoma and as far as Florida knew Cyndi's voice because she was determined that she would always support Kiara.
Cyndi was quick thinking, witty and would joke on you at the blink of an eye, a "gift " she inherited from her mother and best friend, Carolyn D. Love. She and her mother traveled the states and abroad, they were inseparable. They viewed the waters, the mountains, monuments and mansions. Still her greatest pleasure was loving her children, grandchildren and her momma. Cyndi later attended Sanders Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed the Word and fellowship. Her mother and both sets of grandparents, preceded her in death: In my fathers' house there are mansions bright.
Cyndi leaves her children, grandchildren, and family members to share her memory and to carry on the LOVE: Sidney & Tosha: Sha'Lynn, Sydnee, S.J., Sydny; Sid'trell: Kyndal, Kayne', Kreed, Kross; Keondre', Kariah, Keondre' Jr.; Kiara, Kemaria. Father: Norman Grayson. Brothers: Lamar, Norman Jr., and David. Sister: Rashanna (Michael). Uncles: Kenneth (Letitia), Michael, Larry, Otis (Heidi). Aunts: Sharon (Tracey), Shelia, Candice, Eartha, and Patricia.
