Obituary

Life is like an open book with many blank pages.  On May 14, 1998, the book of life began to fill when Damien Lee Hage, Sr. was born from the union of Anna Hage and Joseph Edwards, in the small town of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Damien grew up in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and attended Okmulgee Public Schools.  Damien started into the workforce as a laborer in the Construction industry. He was very skilled with his hands, Construction was not his only career of choice.  He honed many talents those of a Roofing Contractor's assistant, Plumbing, and HVAC as well. There was not a single thing on earth that he could not take apart, fix, and put back together. His hobbies included riding horses, fishing, raising dogs, and working on cars since he was young at his father's auto shop.

"And as for you, be fruitful and multiply; Bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiply in it" (Genesis 9:7) Damien was blessed to father 7 handsome sons Damien Jr., La'Veron, Acien, Tysan, Brad, Camerion', and Jaylen. He LOVED, LOVED, LOVED his children, and enjoyed spending as much time possible with each of them. Family over EVERYTHING was Damien's motto. This phrase not only applied to his maternal and paternal family, but also to anyone that assisted him in navigating through this thing we call life.

The final chapter in his book of life was written and fulfilled on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, when he "Heard the whisper of invitation to Eternal rest".  he was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edwards, grandmother Dorthenia Newton, grandfathers Earl Edwards Sr. and Kelly Dean, and bonus brother Kenneth Fultz III.

He leaves to cherish his memory; seven sons: Damien Jr., La'Veron, Acien, Tysan, Brad, Camerion', and Jaylen, mother Anna Hage (Doug), honorary father Edward Grant I, three brothers Joseph Hage (Jill), Jeffery Edwards, Edward Grant II, a sister Shamecca Hage (Larry), grandmother Carol Dean, honorary brothers Mathew Tabbytite,Trevor Bird, Keaton Jordan, Jared Brown, and Shive's Manous, a caravan of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends that will truly miss his earthly presence.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Friday, October 27, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Eastside Baptist Church, 217 N. Osage Ave., Okmulgee, OK; with Pastor Marcus Jeffrey delivering the eulogy.  Interment will follow in Phyllis Cemetery, Haskell, OK

Visitation will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
