Reflections of His Life
On March 25, 1947 in Fort Gibson, OK a handsome bouncing baby boy was born to Margaret and Arthur Craven. Their second child, they chose to name him Donald Ray Craven. He attended elementary, junior high and a graduated from Manual Training High School, all in Muskogee, OK.
Donald Ray at an early age attended Rayfield Baptist Church. Later in seasoned senior year, he attended Spencer Methodist Church. He exemplified his spirituality helping his family and friends daily with all he knew and loved. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing dominoes and loved watching sports.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother Margaret and step father Preston Lurks, Sr., brothers Preston Lurks, Jr. and Dennis Craven, sister Nona Craven-Marzett, father Arthur Craven.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories three daughters Rachel Soap, Sonya Parker and LaTosha Clark of Muskogee, OK; his fiancé Ronda Carruthers of Muskogee; maternal aunts, Doris Jeffrey-Mure and Pat Craven; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann Bunkley of OKC, OK, Joe (Shirley) Whitelaw, Atlanta, GA, Hattie Lurks, Tulsa, OK, Rose Mary Robinson, Tulsa, OK, Ambrose (Patricia) Lurks, Omaha, NE, Matthew Lamar Lurks, John Lurks and James Lurks of Muskogee, OK, Arthry Jean Jackson, Josie (Danny) Swisher, Harry (Sarah) Craven, Ronda Craven, sister in law Sandra (Deron) Thompson, all of Tulsa, OK and Tony (Althea) Craven of Okmulgee, OK; an abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. We will definitely miss him!
A Service of Memory will be conducted, Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home, 2200 Military Blvd, Muskogee, OK, cremation will follow. Public visitation, Friday, 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
