Dwight D. "Terry" Webb, age 55, a resident of Tulsa and a former resident of Muskogee, OK, transitioned, Thursday, September 4,2014 in Tulsa.OK
Mr. Dwight Dwit Webb transitioned to Eternal Rest, Wednesday morning September 4, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The seventh child born on April 16, 1959, to Charlestine Webb and Hardy Lee Brown. They named him Dwight Dwit after his mother's favorite game show host. He was affectionately and widely known as "Terry".
Terry accepted Christ at an early age at New Zion Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He completed his early education at Dunbar Elementary School and Muskogee High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He graduated in 1978 from Carter G. Woodson High School in Tullahassee, Oklahoma. Terry was a standout all-around athlete and led Carter G. Woodson to many Regional and State Championships.
Terry was employed as a Custodian at Cherokee Elementary School until he relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he worked as a Home Health Aide to special needs individuals. Upon his return to Muskogee, Oklahoma he worked as a Stocker with Albertsons Stores, Inc., from which he retired.
Terry will join in heaven his mother Charlestine Webb and step-father Melvin Wilburn, his aunts Juanita Anderson and Peggie Desmuke, uncles John Jerry McCoy and Kenneth Cullers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his companion Sonja "Cookie" Smith of Tulsa, OK; An Aunt; Francis Criner of Muskogee, OK.
He leaves to carry on his legacy his children; Dwight "Terrell" Webb (Johnetta) of Muskogee, OK., LaToya Lanae Teague Webb of Tulsa, OK., Michael Teague Webb
(Shannon) of Dallas, TX., Stephanie Walker, Marquita Walker, Lacey Walker, Tiera Walker, and Tyrell Walker all
of Minneapolis, MN., Kordan Webb of Oklahoma City, OK.
Also cherishing his memory the children he helped to raise, Nakeitha Adams, Shaquille Adams, and Lloyd Adams all of Tulsa, OK.
Other's left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his brothers; Ronnie Webb (Deborah) of Muskogee, OK., Roy Webb (Mona) of Tulsa, OK., Sisters; Charlesetta Thompson (Ernie) of Sapulpa, OK., Nora Livingston, Lillian Harlin and Saundra Webb all of Muskogee, OK., Twenty grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and
a host of friends.
A Service of Memory will be conducted, Saturday, September, 13th, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Rayfield Baptist Church, 601 Indianapolis St., with Rev. Gary Mitchum, pastor of New Zion Baptist Church, eulogizing.
Interment will be in Booker T. Washington Cemetery
Mr. Webb, will lie-in-state, Friday, in the sanctuary of the New Zion Baptist Church, 901 N. 3rd St. beginning at 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. A family wake will follow the public visitation.
The family has been cared for by Granger-House of Winn Funeral Home.
