Obituary

On April 30th 1939, the Lord blessed Glasco Jones and Beatrice Goodloe Jones with a precious daughter, she was given the name "Elvira June" . She was the 1st born of nine siblings, Patricia Verner, Ruth Washington, Darl O'Guin, Sandra Embry, Gary O'Guin, Linda Williams, Joyce Crawford and Mark O'Guin in Okmulgee, OK. Elvira had the sweetest smile and a gentle spirit, however Elvira was very stern at times. When you look at her life Elvira was the epitome of what a virtuous woman looks like. She was fierce and gave with her whole heart and would always be willing to help anyone in need.

Elvira embodied the femininity, class and grace. Her home was always open to anyone for a warm meal and healthy dose of love and hospitality. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her. Described by those who knew her as charismatic, resilient, loyal, straightforward and a warrior of the Lord. Elvira touched many lives with her vibrant spirit and fun loving personality.

Elvira accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Okmulgee, OK she later moved her membership to St. Andrew Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK under the late Rev. George A. Webb. She was a faithful and loyal member of the church holding several positions as a choir member, usher board of collectively 20 years of service. Elvira was committed to providing for her children, and helping other children of the youth in the community. She was an outstanding girl scout troop leader, respected cheerleading coach, homemaker, domestic worker, and a mother to other children in the neighborhood.
