Obituary

"At Ease Airman"....Eugene "Gomez" Osborn, age 82, Retired US Air Force, a resident of Red Bird, OK; slipped the bonds of this earthly realm unto eternity, June 19, 2024 in Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center, Muskogee, OK; with his family present.

Eugene Osborn was born in Red Bird, Oklahoma, August 6, 1941 to his proud parents  Henry Osborn and Pinkie L. Walker.

Eugene graduated high school from the Historical Miller Washington High School in Red Bird, OK, he was the last class and the last person to graduate from that school. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, August 16, 1960.  He would retire from Armed Forces on August 31, 1980.

"Gomez" as he was affectionately called by his family and friends received his Bachelors Degree in Juvenile Justice from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK.  He would later work for the State of Oklahoma.

Eugene was also the Mayor of Red Bird, OK for 18 years. He was honored, May 17, 2019 for leading the Juvenile Justice system for over 35 years.

He had five children in previous marriages. He found love later and married Sheila Lorraine Osborn.

Eugene went home to be with the Lord, June 19, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Odessa Osborn Hawkins and Anita Harris.

Those left to cherish his memory, his wife, Sheila Osborn, of the home, his sons Chris, Darren and Howard, daughters Nora and Terri Lynn  sisters Juanita Wesley and Yvonne Morris and his brother, Grady Osborn.

A Graveside Service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK with full military honors conducted by Tinker Air Force Honor Guard. Rev. William Janey will be officiating. Public visitation Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Precious Memories Chapel, House of Winn Funeral Home, 2200 Military Blvd, Muskogee, OK.
