Obituary

Frank Barnett, age 86, a resident of Okmulgee, transitioned, Monday Aug. 26, 2013 in Solara Hospital of Muskogee.

Frank Barnett was born on February 25, 1927 in Slick, OK to Lonnie Barnett and Abby Byrd.

He attended school in Slick, OK. After graduation, Frank enlisted into the United States Army, where he served his country until he was honorably discharged. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after many years of service.

Frank accepted Christ and trusted him as his Lord and Savior at an early age.

At the time of his departing, he was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Okmulgee, OK; where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Usher, and member of First Baptist Church Brotherhood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Barnett and Abby Reason, step-father, Joseph Reason, brother, Emerson Penn, three wives, Judy, Rose and Iris, two daughters, Mary Louise Pete and Mary Pearl Barnett.

Frank leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his home going, his children, two sons, Phillip Barnett, Oklahoma City, OK; and Walter Barnett, Los Angeles, CA; five daughters, Denise Johnson, Penny Hightower, Jo Reed all of Oklahoma City, OK; Pam Barnett, Forney, TX; and Diana Bright, Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Joseph (Kate) Reason, Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Joann Mangum and Mary Reason, Okmulgee, OK; sister-in-law, Isabel Penn, Tulsa, OK; one aunt, Adine Byrd, Okmulgee, OK; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and church family that will miss him.

A home Going Celebration will be conducted Saturday, September 7, 2013, 11:00 a.m., First Baptist Church Central, 521 N. Central, Okmulgee, OK; with Rev. Preston W. Jackson, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Tuskegee Cemetery, Edna, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1 to 6 p.m.

The family has been cared for by the Winn family at House of Winn Funeral Home.
