Mrs. Freddie Mae Stokely was born March 5, 1929 in Okmulgee, OK; to the proud parents, Albert Moore and Grace Coleman Moore. She was one of seven children born to this union.
She received her primary education in Okmulgee, OK; graduating with the class of 1948 with the historic Dunbar High School.
Freddie Mae loved to cook. She was the best cinnamon roll and dinner roll baker you'd ever want to taste. She also enjoyed different levels of crafting, such as quilting, needle punch and much more.
Mrs. Stokely was absolutely in love with the singer, songwriter and entertainer, James Brown. Every Sunday she started her morning baking and listening to the gospel channel.
She professed her love for Christ at an early age and attended the Church of the Living God until she was unable to attend but remained faithful in her walk with Christ. She was also a member of Heroines of Jericho.
Freddie Mae went home to be with the Lord, December 6, 2018 surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
Preceding her in death are her parents, siblings, Granver Lee, Alvin Moore, William "Bill" Moore, Marguarite and Lucille Headspeth, her sons, Robert Gallimore Sr., Derrick Hood Sr. and Michael Stokely.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughter, Grace Hood, her siblings, Cordell Moore, Clara Jane McDowell, her grandchildren, Talisha, Dejuan, Tyrone, Colleta, Robert, Selecia, Michael, Derrick Jr., Kelsey and a host of great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, cousin and friends that will miss her.
A Home Going Service is scheduled Monday, December 17, 2018, 10:00 a.m., Precious Memories Chapel, 607 E. Fifth Street, Okmulgee, OK; with Rev. Greg Richardson eulogizing. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.
Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Homes.
