Obituary

Mr. Gary Donnell Grayson, the son of the late Donald and Pearl Grayson was born 1957 in Tulsa, OK.

Gary attended St. Monica Catholic School & Tulsa Public Schools. He later graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master's degree in Social Work. He continued his educational career and earned a license in social work.

Gary was never afraid of a challenge and used his education and life skills to touch the lives of many. He started off his social work career working with youth in foster care, juvenile justice system and later transitioned into working with veterans for the Veterans Administration as mentioned earlier he moved wherever the next challenge took him from working on an Indian reservation in Minnesota to the VA in Dallas, TX.

Gary gave his time and energy in the pursuit of helping the less fortunate. He was always an advocate for their rights. Gary was very proud of his Creek heritage he was often present in tribal activities and knowledgeable of Creek affairs. He was an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan always engaging in friendly discussions during the game.
Gary's priorities in life included both education and family, he enjoyed showing off his skills in a good game of pool or cooking for his children and their families. He loved to listen to music, dance and spend time with his children. He never left their presence without acknowledging his love for his two daughters and his grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Michael.

He leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy, two daughters, Tori Eubanks (Ken) Shores and Iyana Grayson, 9 grandchildren, Carlos, Tazaree, Kobe, Seven, Sinai, Sinae, Naveah, Lea and Emmy, his sister, Debra (Harry), Tulsa, OK; a brother, Donald Lynn, Holdenville, OK; a God brother, Phillip Duncan, Tulsa, OK; along with a host of cousins and nephews that will miss him.

A Home Going service is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Precious Memories Chapel, 607 E. 5th Street, Okmulgee, OK; with Rev. Leroy Walker, Sr. eulogizing. Cremation to follow.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
