Gary Wayne Hill, Sr., in his 65th year made his transition from labor to rest on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his daughter by his side.  Gary, Sr. was born on July 6, 1958, in Okmulgee to Donzel "Doc" Hill, Jr., and Rebecca "Becky" (Richardson) Hill.  He was the fourth of their seven children.  He attended Okmulgee Public Schools with the class of 1977.  He joined the United States Army in 1977 and was honorably discharged in 1981.  In 1985, Gary married Shelice Phillips in Okmulgee, Ok.  To this union, two children were born, Princiss, (1984) and Gary, Jr., (1987-2020).  Gary united in marriage to Viola Jones in 1998, and they were married until his death.  To this union, two sons were born, Prince, (1995) and Joshua (2002).  Gary was an excellent cook.  He loved spending time with his family, watching horror movies, and being Pawpaw to his two grandchildren, speaking to them on the phone weekly.

His loved ones who preceded him in death are his parents, Donzel and Rebecca Hill, Jr., Paternal grandparents Donzel and Flora Hill Sr., maternal grandparents James and Helen Richardson, son Gary Wayne Hill Jr., Brothers Gordon Eugene Hill, Sr., and Donnie Hill, sister Patricia Hill, uncles Leonard Richardson, Oscar, Charles and Harold Hill, aunts Mae Ella, Lillie, Leona, Elizabeth, Floretha, Nathious, and Bernice Hill.

Gary leaves behind his wife Viola Hill of Okmulgee, OK, daughter Princiss Rockmore (Lewis) of Edmond, OK, sons Prince and Joshua Hill of Okmulgee, Grandchildren Malaki Hill of OKC, OK, Nehemiah Turner of Abilene, TX, Naomie Rockmore and Lewis C. Rockmore IV of Edmond, OK; six brothers Steve (Lisa), Donzel, and Dwayne of Okmulgee; Boswell (Tracy) of Allen, TX,; Darren and Michael of OKC, OK,; five sisters Sharon Hawkins and Lorraine Hill of Okmulgee; Teresa, Debra, and Janice of OKC, OK,; uncles James Richardson Jr., of OKC, OK and Lonell Richardson of Los Angeles, CA; one aunt Myrtle Powell of Okmulgee; a special cousin Don Edward of Okmulgee, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside Rites will be performed Monday, September 25, 2023, 2:30 pm, Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK.  Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2023, 2:00 pm until 4:00pm.
