George W. Grayson Jr. age 91, retired farmer and long time resident of Haskell, OK, passed away, Sunday, May 3,2015 in Eastar Health System.

George W. Grayson, Jr. was born August 18, 1923 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George W. Grayson, Sr. and Alice Rowe Grayson.

After the death of his mother, George Jr. was raised by his grandparents, George and Margaret Mackay.

George attended school in Haskell and Boynton, Oklahoma, graduating from Wheatley High School, Boynton, OK; in 1943. He met and married Doris Lockridge in 1943 to which five girls were born to this union.

George was a farmer all of his life. He also worked for Bethlehem Steel, Oklahoma Department of Transportation and McDonald Douglas and retired from the State of Oklahoma, but farming remained his first love.

Coal Creek Baptist Church, was his church, one he attended for eighty-four years. George held the office of Trustee and Grounds Keeper until his health began to fail.

Preceding him in death are his parents, grandparents and wife of twenty-two years.

Left to mourn his passing, five daughters, Marsha (Rev. M. Williams) Beggs, OK; Melba (John Hall), Aurora, CO; Alice (James Hicks)Haskell, OK; Karen Stephens, Muskogee, OK; and Shirley Grayson, Aurora, CO; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, along with a host of relatives, friends, and neighbors who have been so supportive down through the many years that will miss him.
A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Saturday, May 9, 2015, 11:00 a.m., First Baptist Church, Haskell, OK; with Rev. Larry Pouncil, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Friday Cemetery, Haskell, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
