On March 21, 1929, George Amos Mackey and Flossie (Fanning) Mackey welcomed the birth of their son George Amos Mackey Jr.

George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked in construction and cattle ranching. George loved to fish, hunt and gardening, he loved the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by parents, George A. Mackey, Sr. and Flossie Fanning Mackey and Step Mother Eva Mackey, great great-grandfather, John Wesley and Molisa Hawkins Mackey, brother Bobby Wayne Mackey, grandfather, William Andrew and Minnie Wisdom Mackey, John Mackey, William A. Mackey, Louise Carter, Opal Walters, Hazel Rakin and grandson Jimmie D. Godfrey Jr., Alice Godfrey, Elizabeth Mackey and Anthony Godfrey Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mittie Mackey; his children, George A. "Butch" Mackey III (Patricia) of Tahlequah, Brenda K. Godfrey (Jimmie) of Muskogee, Deborah L. Adair (Herold) of Stone Bluff, Diane L. Hammons (Bobby Joe) of Muskogee, Mary E. Hickman (Michael) of Broken Arrow, Gary W. Mackey (Ruby) of Broken Arrow, Sandra L. Storts (Roy L.) of Missouri, Jimmy Don Mackey of Muskogee; sisters, Connie Snyder and Lonnie Snyder of California, Carolyn and Steve Stevens of California; cousins, Melba Hodges of Warner and Audrey Oliver of Pocola; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Precious Memories Chapel at House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, with Rodney Mattox, eulogizing.
