Obituary

On September 13, 1952 Glenn Hitchye was born to Ruby Holmes and Claude Hitchye in Oktaha, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of eleven children.  He was blessed with the natural gift to play instruments at an early age.  He used his talent to serve God as a minister of music at First Baptist Church, Okay, OK; for many years.

Glenn started his journey through life joining the United States Army and serving his time protecting our country at the young age of 20 in 1972. After the military he went on to marry the love of his life, Debra Simmons in 1985 and out of that love they had two children (Anju and Glenn Marcus Hitchye, Jr.).  Glenn was a God-fearing, loving husband and devoted father/grandfather who fought an arduous fight against pancreatic cancer until he passed.  He was truly one of the kindest souls to walk this earth.  He used his time on earth to inspire, teach and lead many souls to God.  Glenn always shared words of wisdom with his family and friends quite often.  Some words of wisdom he blessed us with are, "You never know who is watching you, so be careful of your actions" and "You cannot howl with the wolves at night and soar with the eagles in the morning."  He always emphasized the importance of fulfilling God's will and encouraged others to always do their best.

Glenn was called home, Tuesday, February 7, 2017.

His loved ones who preceded him in death are his parents; Claude and Ruby Hitchye; his siblings; Marva Jean, Brenda Joyce, Marvin, Claudia, Vivian, Rudolph, Floyd, Felton, and Wanda Hitchye.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Hitchye of Muskogee, OK; his two children, Anju Hitchye and Glen Marcus (Jasmon) Hitchye; his grandchildren, Jerel, Jailan, Jailea Bryars, and Niyajae Hitchye; his brother Herbert (Linda) Hitchye; his aunt Mrs. Bertha Horn of Muskogee, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
