Grant Jackson, III, age 73, a resident of Checotah, OK, transitioned, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in St Francis Medical Center-Tulsa with family at bedside.
February 8, 1949 Pierce, OK - Grant Jackson, Jr. and Blissteen Goudeau-Jackson were blessed with a Son, their first born child Grant Jackson, III.
December 6, 2022- While in St Francis ICU Tulsa, OK at age 73, Grant Jackson III departed this world to Everlasting Life, a host of love ones proceeded him in death: Wife-Wilma Jean Springfield Jackson; Parents - Grant and Blissteen Jackson Jr.; Brothers: Walter and Ronnie J. Jackson; Grandparents - Ragle & Nellie Greenleaf-Goudeau; Grant & Thelma Scroggins-Jackson Sr. and All of his Aunts & Uncles.
Grant III was baptized at Mt. Olive Star Baptist Church as a youth . Grant was drafted into the Vietnam War shortly after finishing High Schoolwork (Warrior/Pierce/Checotah), he completed his tour of duty and was discharged with a honorable discharge.
Grant worked for: TPS as a School Bus driver until he retired.. Grant took several classes over the years, getting certified as a Mechanic, HVAC and a few other certifications.
Grant III leaves behind to celebrate his life: Sisters - Cheryl S., Debra A. & Nellie C. Jackson, Tulsa, OK; Brothers - Raymond Jackson, Sr., Checotah, OK and Jerry L. Jackson, Muskogee, OK
Children – Kevin Sr. (Yolanda) & Shawndae Tuskegee, AL; Christopher Jackson Atlanta, GA; Victoria Springfield, Trivette Speed, Joseph Brown Sr, Kellie Johnson (Gary), Wendy Spears , Michael Spears, Rebecca Spears, Grant IV, and Kendall B. Jackson, of Tulsa, OK
Grandchildren - Angel & Darnella Spears, Tiffany & Nicholas Heatley, Ebony Fisher, Megan Spears (Jason), Kevin Jr, & Sean Jackson, Miya Spears, Marco Jackson, Kaylie & Joseph Brown, II, Cadyn & Christopher II, Hailey & Brooke Spears, Charles Basham, IV, Kamaree Briggs, Olivia & Braxton Jackson Tatiyana, Jarrad, Abigail, Lillian & Sakura Spears, Levi Walker
Great Grandchildren and Nieces/Nephews and family.
A Home Going Service will be conducted on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., in the Mount Olive Star Baptist Church, 413665 E 1080 Rd, Checotah, OK with Pastor Troy Daniels, Resurrection & Life Church eulogizing. Interment will follow in Warrior Cemetery, Checotah, OK.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, December 16th in the Precious Memories Chapel, House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
