Guy Franklin, 104, farmer, a long time resident of Okmulgee, OK; passed away, August 9, 2014 in Highland Park Manor.

Guy Franklin was born in Kaufamn TX; to Benjamin and Tiny Franklin on July 18, 1910. He was the seventh of eight children.

He married Flossie Tunley. They were blessed with eleven children. he was such a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He was a mild mannered and good and caring man. he was a true friend to all that knew him.

He confessed his belief in God at an early age. He served as a Deacon at Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ for many years. he worked faithfully as Sunday School superintendent and YPWW President.

He loved playing baseball with his brothers. He was an extraordinary man who treated everyone he encountered with kindness and respect. he will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Franklin, sisters, Laura, Ludia (Atlanta), Wilma, Mozelle, brothers, Carl, Everett, and Harold, a daughter, Bettye Armstrong and a son, Charles Franklin.

He survived by five sons, Earl Franklin, Wichita, KS, Forrest (Ammonia) Franklin , Cary, NC; Kenneth (Doris) Franklin, Carson, CA; Donald Franklin, Muskogee, OK; Fulton Franklin, Los Angeles, CA; four daughters, Vernita (Willie) Smith, Wilma Franklin, Los Angeles, CA; Geraldine Mabry (Donald) Norwalk, CA; Mozelle McFrazier, Tulsa, OK; a host of adorable grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Home going Celebration will be conducted, Saturday, August 16, 2014, 11;00 a.m., Eastside Church of God in Christ, 1516 Martin Luther King, Okmulgee, OK, with Superintendent Frank Brazwell, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
