A child is born, and a race begins. It is a race from the cradle to the grave. And is between
that time, be long or short, come life. Each person must run their course. So, it was with
Harvey Lee Tate.
Harvey's journey begin on April 17, 1942, at 11:00am to the proud parents of Jesse Doyle
Tate and Harvey Lee Tate Sr in Yahola, Oklahoma. He attended Uganda Martys Catholic Church in Okmulgee, Ok. He attended Tulsa Public Schools graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in the class of 1961. Growing up in Tulsa North Greenwood District, he worked as a cook at Leroy's restaurant on 11th and Memorial. He went on to attend Okmulgee Tech taking up diesel mechanic. He later joined the US Navy-USN, Stationed on the West Coast as Engine Mechanic for 4 years. Receiving National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Metal (with 2 Bronze Stars), Vietnam Campaign Medal (with Device), First Good Conduct Medal. Returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma he worked construction on downtown high-rise buildings. Janitorial at night. He moved to Ford Glass Plant for 20 years where he retired. Harvey met the love of his life Lola they were married and moved to Beggs, Okla in 1985 where he resided till his passing.
Harvey was very much loved by family and friends because of his kind and most caring nature and giving heart. There will be a void in our lives because of his absence. His
journey ended on April 17, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Preceded him in death his parents his wife Lola, two sisters and seven brothers. He lives to rejoice in his home going, One Son Adrian Friday (Denise) of Bentonville, AR.
Stepdaughter Stacey Friday of Tulsa, Okla., Stepdaughter Pamela Cotton of Beggs, Okla. Five Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren. Two Sisters Thurmaple Davis (Lawrence), Joyce Sanders of Tulsa, Okla. Two Brothers Leonard Tate (Zelma) of Tulsa, Okla., Leo Cole of Dallas, Tx., with a host of Niece, Nephews, Cousins, One special Aunt June and Friends
Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
Harvey, it broke my heart to lose you. You did
not go alone, for part of me went with you the day God
called you home. You will always be with me in spirit
and in heart. I Love you and I will always love you Aunt
June.
I can do all things through Christ which Strengthens me.

Prayer:
Without you, God, I would lose my strength and lose faith in myself. I'm glad I'll never have to worry about this because Your Grace, Your Spirit, and Your Son will Strengthen me and help me get through any storm.

A Graveside Service is scheduled, Saturday April 26, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Beggs City Cemetery, Beggs, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
