Hattie Lee Mann was born on February 20, 1923 in Sharps Community in Okmulgee County to Ira Lee Hood and Exie (Griffith) Hood. Hattie was the baby girl of 2 siblings: the eldest being Mattie Hood Reed. Hattie moved to Okmulgee and at an early age she accepted Christ and was a member of Cleaves Memorial CME Church. She attended Okmulgee Elementary School and graduated from the historic Dunbar High School in 1940.
In 1942, Hattie moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she worked at the Los Angeles Power and Water Company and was the supervisor in the Accounting Department and worked up until her retirement after 25 years of service to the City of Los Angeles. During her time in Los Angeles, she met and married the late Ralph Hines. They relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, and this is where their love story continued for 45 years.
In 1994, Hattie moved from Las Vegas, NV to Okmulgee, OK. Here she met and married the late Lonnie L. Mann at Northwest Baptist Church, and they lived in wedded bliss for 14 years. Hattie was a member of Northwest Baptist Church and was known as "Mama Mann" the Mother of the church. Hattie was a faithful member of Northwest Baptist Church, and she enjoyed attending Sunday School, as well as being a dutiful member of the City-Wide Prayer Band and the Red Hatters Society. In 2023, Hattie was blessed to receive the "Centenarians of Oklahoma" Award.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Ira Lee and Exie (Griffith) Hood, her sister, Mattie Hood Reed, Ralph Hines and Lonnie Mann.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Andrew Hayes, Dwight Hayes, McKinley Hayes, Keith Hayes, Jacqueline Hodge, Carolyn Mann and Vandora Mann. Her bonus family, Ernestine Hill, Daryl O'Guin, Norma and Walter Tuggle and a host of friends who adored her.
A Home Going Celebration is scheduled, Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Northwest Baptist Church, 10455 Smith Road, Okmulgee, Ok; with Pastor Leroy Crawford, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Okmulgee Cemetery, Okmulgee, Ok. Visitation will be Monday, July 8th, 2024, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in House of Winn-Okmulgee.
