Obituary

On July 09, 1939 a precious baby boy was born in Ft. Gibson to Willie James Blackmon and Christean ( Marks) Blackmon. They Named him Hermon.

Hermon  grew up in Four Mile Branch with his mother and siblings. He never had the opportunity to meet and know his Father, having lost him when he was just nine months old. As and adult, He served two years in the National Guard. Upon completion of his enlistment, he mainly worked as an independent contractor doing concrete work and landscaping.

Hermon was married four times. It was during his first marriage that he became the proud father of seven children.

Anyone that met Hermon knew how much family meant to him. He was always one of the first willing to help organize family events such as picnics and reunions, always greeting everyone with a big contagious smile.

Hermon served as a deacon and member of the choir at Blackjack church in Taft, OK where he was also baptized. You always knew when the spirit hit him when he threw his head back and hit the high notes while singing.

He enjoyed talking about GOD and discussing the bible with anyone who would listen. Especially his grandchildren.

On August 28, 2024, with his strong faith and love for GOD in his heart, Hermon was told his work was done, he could finally rest and was called home to be with Christ.
