Obituary

Ida Mae Hunt was born to Samuel and Ida Bagby on December 6, 1926 in Preston, OK. She also attended Douglas Elementary & Wheatley High School in Beggs , OK . At the age of 84, she entered her heavenly rest peacefully in her home on September 12, 2011, in Okmulgee, OK that is also where she resided for many years with her husband, Vernon Hunt who preceded her in death.

Ida Mae was also affectionately called "sister" by many family members. She was a lady with an abundance of love for family and friends alike; a kind person with a great sense of humor who was amused by the antics of all of us.

This Godly woman with grace and style gave her life to Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord with all her heart and trusted in Him without a doubt, even after her son Roland Stanford passed away, as well as several brothers and sisters. She was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church ( Okmulgee , OK ) She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and in her latter years she served as a Deaconess. This angelic woman lived her life to the fullest with dignity, loved to travel, entertain, cook and was well known for her delicious peach cobbler! She was always the SPOTLIGHT every place she went. We will miss her in the natural, but we all know she's in Heaven, "Dancing With The Stars!"

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters Ira Mae (Albert) Bryant, Ernestine (Johnny) Wilson , Sherilen Hunt Abraham and daughter-in-law Cheryl Stanford. Grandchildren Cynthia (David) Moss, Myra ( Leon) Golden, Johnny (Christie) Wilson Jr., Master Sgt. Albert ( Jada) Bryant, Tinita ( Timothy) Jacquet, Terasita Bryant, Khea Stanford, and Dr. Brandon (Cicely) Wilson. She also leaves thirteen great-grandchildren and six siblings, Ray Bagby, Maxine Grayson, Bernice Cole, Raymond Bagby, Delores Nash, Elaine Cole and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
