James Lee Duty Jr., 80, retired Security Officer, a resident of Vernon, OK;  passed away in his home, Monday, January 12, 2015.

James Lee Duty Jr. was born May 14, 1934 in vernon, Oklahoma to the late Ozzie and James Lee Duty Sr.

He recieved his formal education at Rock Hill Elementary School, Vernon High School and attended colllege at Shorter College in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from May 31, 1955 to May 30, 1963.  He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age.

James served as Deacon and Ordained Elder and President of Ushers Federation at Forest Hill, SDA in Fort Worth, Texas.  At his passing he served as Elder and Head Usher at the Maranatha SDA Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

James enjoed fishing, attending professional baseball games and watching football and basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozzie and James Lee Duty Sr., one sister, Lavern Duty-Fields, and a son, Terrence C. Duty.

James leaves to cherish his memories, his wife for eighteen years; Davyre Duty of Vernon, OK; two sons, Reginald (Sharon) Duty, Fort Worth, TX; James L. Duty III, Fort Worth, TX; two daughters, Dwuna M. Duty, Cleburne, TX; Stephanie (Ronney) Broussard, Oklahoma City, OK; step-daughter, Tracy Freeman, DeSoto, TX; niece, Barbara Ann (Eric) Armstrong, Vernon, OK; one nephewAnderson C. (Mann) Fields Jr, Oklahoma City, OK; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two great nieces, one great nephew and many relatices and friends.

Services will conducted on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church, Vernon, OK.

Visitation will be, Sunday, January 18, 2015,  2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the Vernon Cemetery

The family has been cared for by the House of Winn Funeral Home.
