James Everett Foster, 62, a resident of Muskogee OK;
transitioned, Sunday, February 7, 2016. He was born, June 14, 1953, in Muskogee, the son of Robert Foster and Lois Freeman.
James attended Muskogee Public Schools, and graduated from Muskogee High School with the class of 1971. He furthered his education attending Wiley College and later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Instrumental and General Music from Bishop College.
James married his high school sweetheart, Sylvia Howard and fathered three children.
Music was a way of life for James and the love of it was reflected throughout his personal, professional and spiritual life. An educator in the public schools for over 34 years, he began as junior high and high school assistant band director and later worked as music instructor in elementary schools throughout the district.
James will be remembered by his loving wife, Sylvia of the home; two sons, Jeffrey (Brandy) of Muskogee and Donn (Jacci) of Freehold, NJ; one daughter, Ericka of Muskogee; 9 grandchildren, one godson, two sisters, two sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, February 13, 2016,11:00 a.m., Harvest Ministries Church, 2200 E. Okmulgee, Muskogee, OK; interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held after the visitation at 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
