Obituary

March 6, 1943 a son was born to James Elbert Fullbright Sr. and Ida Louise Dotson-Bray, they named him James Elbert and called him Jr., he was the second child born to this union and was blessed to have 8 other siblings.  In Green Pastors James attended church and school until the seventh grade. His parents moved to Oklahoma City Ok and he then attended Douglas High School.

While working on cars he met and fell in love and married the love of his life for 54 years, Lelia Mae Thompson. James and Lelia decided to move to Muskogee to raise their family. He attended The Church of Christ 18 th & Denison St. then made it his Church Home where he remained a faithful member.

James was known for working with construction companies such as the Williams Brothers, Bruce Clark, Lock and Damn 17, working with Bo Sample, Robert Wagoner, and William Brown, but most of all James loved his family and always had a nickname for some of them like: Gremlin, Juicy, Yogi, RanRan, DuceDuce, Pig, MunkMunk, BunkBunk, Dimples, Frog, Grasshopper, Delicious, Monkey, Legs, Gremlin2, and Dummy, he also loved being in his recliner looking at In the Heat of the Night, M.A.S.H. and good Westerns.

Welcoming James to his heavenly home, parents Hop, Madea, step mother Lorene Fullbright, daughter Deedra Fullbright, great grandchildren KhaLeon Clark, Abbrielle Fullbright, his father-in-law Owens "Blue" Thompson, mother-in-law Berdie Mae Johnson, Sisters Claudetta "Jackie" Moore, Berthina "Tina" McKnight, Ophelia Fullbright, brothers Rollin "Dead-Eye" Fullbright, John Quincy Fullbright, Clifford Fullbright and brother-in-law James Charles McKnight Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories and to carry on his legacy wife Lelia, children Dannetta (Richard) Tate their five children and twelve grandchildren, Darvin Brison, Dorlicia (Wayne) Young their eight children, twenty three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Davetta (Sydney) Moore their five children and seven grandchildren, Delduran Fullbright his thirteen children and six grandchildren and Deedra Fullbright her three daughters and two grandchildren, his Siblings-brothers Leslie J. Fullbright, Harry Lee Fullbright, Sisters Zana A. (Joe) Whitaker, Vanessa D (Stanley) Pompay, and Cinthy E. Fullbright, his favorite cousins Norwood Harmon and Jimmie Lee Gardner, his nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friend.

A Home Going celebration will be conducted, Friday, August 14,2020 at 11 a.m. in the Westside Church of Christ, 2434 W. Okmulgee St., Muskogee, OK with Brother Eric Rodgers, eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation, Thursday, August 13th in the Precious Memories Chapel of the funeral home during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Masks are mandatory at all services.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee.
