James Lee Grant, Sr. age 78, retired glass plant and a resident of Okmulgee, OK; transitioned into his heavenly home Thursday, December 10, 2015 at OSU Medical Center, Tulsa, OK.
James Lee Grant, Sr. was born to Charlie and Savannah (Scroggins) Grant, May 12, 1937 in Okmulgee County.
He attended Okmulgee Public Schools and graduated from historical Dunbar High School with the class of l957. James was a retiree of Ball Bothers Corporation.
James was a member of Church of the Living God. He was an active member who served as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and other offices until his health failed.
James was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Janice Grant Webb, step-daughter, Joan Hudson, brother, Odies Grant, Leon Grant and sister, Dorothy Wilson.
Those remaining to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Betty Jewel Grant, of the home, one daughter, Angela (James) Davis, Oklahoma City, OK; three sons, Steven Ray Grant, James Lee Grant, Jr., Edward Grant, all of Okmulgee, OK; step-children, June Marie Powell and Warren G. Hurd, Jr., both of California, one brother, Chester (Joyce) Grant, two sisters Juanita (Carmon) Wilson and Charlesetta Mahone, all of Okmulgee, OK; A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Home Going service will be conducted Friday, December 18, 2015, 11:00 a.m., Church of the Living God, 1100 North Osage Street, Okmulgee, OK. Interment will follow in Okmulgee City Cemetery, Okmulgee, OK.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015, 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Precious Memories Chapel, Okmulgee OK.
