James "Boots" Cleveland Lang
James Cleveland Lang was born November 23, 1953 in Jones, OK; to Archie Lang Sr. and Naomi Lucille (Fields) Lang.
James attended Boynton Public Schools. After graduating high school, he moved to Oklahoma City and worked for Dayton Tire and Rubber Company for 6 years. James decided the city life was not for him and moved back to Boynton where he worked in construction for different construction companies. In 1990 he started working for Muskogee County District #3 where he was employed for 25 years. James retired last year and was looking forward to just relaxing hunting, fishing and taking care of his cows.
On March 7, 1976 he married his high school sweet heart, Constance (Howell) Lang. The couple had six children.
He's preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Moses and Michael Lang.
He leaves to mourn, his wife of 40 years, mother, Naomi Lucille (Fields) Lang, children, Antonio Lang Sr., Jamie Lang, Oklahoma City, OK, Derrick (Olivia) Lang, Lausanne Switzerland, Latoya Lang, Tulsa, OK, Brittani Lang, Muskogee, OK, Shawonda Lang, Boynton, OK; a special person he thought of as a son, Martinez Geretta, 14 Siblings, Juanita Moore, Los Angeles, CA; Kenneth Lee Lang, Leanard (Kay) Lang, Boynton, OK; Archie June (Shirley) Lang Sr., Oklahoma City, OK; Thelma (Robert) Walker, Muskogee, OK; William Lang Sr., Marie (Steve) Wilson, Evelyn Howell, Elma "Bodie" (Larzetta) Lang, Boynton, OK; Jackie Winston, Tulsa, OK; Everette (Sherri) Lang Sr., Robert (Doris) Lang Sr., Martin (Lanita) Lang Sr., Boynton, OK, and Charlotta Brown, Muskogee, OK; 12 grandchildren, 2 uncles, Claiborne Fields, Vernon, OK; and Kenneth (Katherine) Fields, Taft, OK; 1 aunt, Altha Fay Fields, Wichita, KS; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins relatives and friends. He also was a foster dad to about 50 foster children.
Special Thanks to Brittani Lang for the daily care she provided for her Father. She was by his side until the very end.
A Home Going Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Rayfield Baptist Church, 601 Indianapolis Street, Muskogee, OK; with Rev. Charles E. Spaulding, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Lang Family Cemetery, Boynton, OK.
Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home.
