James Nathan Tyson was born on July 26, 1959 to Nathaniel Tyson and Nadine Cato Tyson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
His early childhood was spent in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he attended Robert Frost Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School and Central High School.
James accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Paul AME Methodist Church where he served as a usher. Later he joined and was a member of the Community Mission of the Lord Jesus Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Vernon, Oklahoma. He rededicated his life to Christ in 2015.
James was previously married, First to Shelia Bagby, and one son James Jr. was born to this union.
On August 10, 2012, James was joined in Holy matrimony to LaTanja Gray, and to this union two girls LaToya and Marian (Chae) were born.
James was preceded in death by both parents, Nathaniel and Nadine Tyson, one sister Faye Etta Hardimon, one brother in-law Willie Hardimon, grandparents Theodore R. Cato and Ethel Lee Jones Cato, James Tyson and Minnie Ratcliff Tyson.
James worked for Lakeview Amusement Park, Quik Trip and Tyson"s, Landscapping and Pinpoint/Nonni's.
James was a loving person. He loved helping his family and friends. He always enjoyed watching football and racing. He loved to barbecue and enjoyed family time. He loved the county life and enjoyed fishing. He loved his children, grand-children, and anyone that came in his path.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his wife LaTanja, his children: DeAntijuan Daley of Florida, Anthony Alexander of Tulsa, Oklahoma, LaToya Tyson, of Tulsa Oklahoma, James Tyson Jr of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Ashley Tyson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marian (Chae) Tyson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kamlah Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Robert Gray of Tulsa, Oklahoma, James Gray of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jerome Gray of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Donovan Gray of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tyanna Culley of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Carlonik Samuel, Keniya Smith, Yasmin McNeal, Brandy Edwards, Raya Edwards, Makayla Alexander,Jayson Alexander, Aleciya Alexander, Unity Paupaw, and Ray Daley. Great-grandchildren: Myamee Edwards, Mekhi Edwards, and Asia Samuel. Sisters: Valerie Heath(Big Tam) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Lolita Oliver (Rodrick) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, along with a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends that will miss him.
