Obituary

James Carl Woods of Tulsa, OK passed from this life on December 27, 2020 at the age of 77.  James was born in Tulsa, OK on November 25, 1943.  James was the second born son of Jonny Woods and Rosebud Gray.

James was born a Lutheran and continued with his faith through his entire life.  James grew up in Tulsa, OK where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.  Within his adult years James also known as Baby Jake, or Seekie, he worked as a construction worker and for American Airlines. His hobbies included walking, bull riding, roping, watching his favorite western shows, and shooting the bull with his family and friends (let's be honest he shot it with everyone).

Seekie was preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn (Voncel) Sallis Woods, his parents Jonny Woods and Rosebud Gray, 1 sister and 1 brother.

James leaves to cherish his memory two sons Carl (Michelle) Woods of Oktaha, OK, Kenneth Woods of Tulsa, OK; three daughters Lakeesha Sallis of Muskogee, OK, Tashia Morrison of Tulsa, OK, Donna Woods of Tulsa, OK.  He also leaves to cherish his memory seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.  James leaves his sister Wilma Patterson of Raytown, MO, three brothers Earl Snell of Tulsa, OK, Norvell Gray of Tulsa, OK and Michael Gray of Tulsa, OK. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws.

"For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his". Romans 6:5

A Service of Memory will be conducted, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee, with Rev. Donald Brown, eulogizing.  Interment will follow in Four Mile Branch cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK.   Visitation, Friday, January 8th beginning at 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the chapel.
