Jemaine Monteil Cannon was born November 13, 1971 At Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan to Betty Cannon and Herbert Eugene Clements. He departed this life on Thursday July 20, 2023 at McAlester, Oklahoma.
Jemaine's journey began in Flint, Michigan until the family moved to Oklahoma in 1979. Jemaine loved to read, he loved sports, mainly basketball, he enjoyed cooking, traveling, movies, and of course music. Jemaine jokingly called himself "Big Money Maine". He loved his family and friends. Some friends became family. His biggest confidant was his sister Tamoura Cannon.
Jemaine was preceded in death by his brother Jesse Brent Scott III (Doonie), his father Herbert Eugene Clements, his grandparents Melvin & Louise Purvis, Herbert Hart,William Harriford Sr, & his aunt Linda Clements all of Flint, Michigan. Loving grandfather Hamon Sallis of Oklahoma.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Betty Harriford Brown, grandmother Lee B Sallis of Tahlequah, sister Tamoura Cannon of Indiana, brother Chris Hill of Michigan, grandmother Mary Harriford of Flint, Aunts Toni & Jackie Purvis, Laverna Murphy & Sheila Hart of Michigan. Aunt Jenise Harriford, June & Rick Keller of Texas, uncle William & Arlana Harriford Jr of Delaware and Uncle Andre Holiday of Michigan. Special nephew Dominic & Luciana Cannon, DeAndre, Daeveon, DeMarcus, Lamiah & Laniyah Cannon, all of Texas. Special recognition and thanks to Bonita Lowe, Julie Gardner, for dedicated support over the years. Jemaine also leaves a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends including the Cannon, Clements, Hudson, Harriford, Sallis, and Riddle families.
Graveside rites, Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Booker T. Washington cemetery, Muskogee,OK with Rev. Charles Moore offering words of comfort. There will be no Public Visitation.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee.
