Joetta Norton was born on October 22, 1955 to the union of Denyveous O'Guynn, Jr., and Gilberratta Harris in Wagoner Oklahoma. Joetta graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles, California. She attended community college with a major in childcare and later received her certification as a nursing assistant. In 2012 she moved from California back to her hometown in Oklahoma to care for her ill stepbrother and became a member of Blood Brought Evangelist Temple Church of God In Christ.

Joetta was a loving caring spirit. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend to all. She spent her whole life caring for others both professionally and for her family and friends. She loved going fishing, which was one of her greatest joys.

On August 11, 1975, she married her husband, Anthony Norton. They later had two children, Anthony Norton Jr. and Vanessa (Norton) Wright.

On October 20th, 2023, she was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; Denyveous O'Guynn Jr and Gilberratta Harris, husband Anthony Norton, and sister Beatrice Marie O'Guynn.

She leaves to cherish in her most precious memories, her children, Anthony Norton, Vanessa Wright, her son in law Antonio Wright and 2 grandchildren Joella Wright, and Savannah Wright, and her brother Dennis O'Guynn, as well as a host of sister cousins, friends and family.

Funeral Services are scheduled Thursday, October 26, 2023, 12 noon, Blood Bought Church of God in Christ, 1102 N 3rd St, Muskogee, OK; Elder Clark Gilford, pastor will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK.  Visitation will be Wednesday, 12 noon until 4:00 p.m.
