June 14, 1928 – February 1, 2022
On June 14, 1928 Larthur B Craig was born in Eufaula, OK to the union of Ada Nelson Craig and Leroy (Roy) Craig. He was the 5 th of seven children.
Most of his younger years was spent in Beland, OK where he attended McSwain School. He also attended Moton Schools in Taft, OK.
Larthur B joined the military in 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1952.
He spent many years in San Diego, CA. While there he didn't forget his teachings of the Bible. Larthur B attended Calvary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and Baptist Training Union.
Uncle 'B' returned to Oklahoma in the early 70's. He worked as a farmer, and a masonry in construction. After retiring he still worked assisting with the Douglas Nutrition Program.
Larthur B joined First Baptist Church, Summit, OK and was ordained a Deacon under Pastor Clarence Woodfork.
He came to town almost daily. He would always be seen driving around town taking someone to do errands. Even in is 90's he was bringing his lawn mower to town to cut someone's yard or he just came to visit and play dominos.
He loved to reminisce about the old days. 'B' was always smiling, laughing, and telling jokes.
Uncle B is the last of the Craig children to go to glory and he will be truly missed by all.
Meeting him at the Gates of Glory will be his parents, Ada and Roy Craig, his siblings; Vernon, Alma Carter, Amos, Emma Taylor, O Reba Lyday, and Sidney.
Those left to remember him are his vast number of nephews and nieces, special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon and Paulette Logan, and many other family and friends.
A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church, 6600 S. 54th St. W. Summit, OK with Pastor Charles Moore, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Ft Gibson National cemetery in Ft Gibson, OK with Military Honors, provided by American Legion Post 20. Visitation, Thursday, Feb.10th in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home, during the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
MASKS are mandatory at all services.
