Lawrence Walter Morgan, Jr. was born to Lawrence and Alma Morgan, Sr. on August 3, 1962, in Tulsa, OK. Lawrence, Jr., better known as Junior or JR, was the second of 5 children. He was a graduate of Haskell High School with the Class of 1980. After graduation, Lawrence, Jr. attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology-Okmulgee where he studied Engineering Graphics & Design Drafting Technologies.
Lawrence, Jr. cherished spending time with his family and friends; being with them brought him great joy. He was passionate about fishing, hunting, video gaming, and watching action-packed films - his favorite being science-fiction "B" movies. JR's greatest qualities included being an amazing protector, provider, and always wanting to fix things for everyone. Lawrence, Jr. never knew a stranger, and he a was compassionate listener. His smile, laughter and incredible sense of humor were contagious and drew you in. He was driven about making everyone around him better, while remaining humble about his own capabilities.
He leaves in God's care; his loving wife of 20 years, Wanda Collins of Boynton, OK; his devoted parents, Lawrence and Alma Morgan, Sr., of Haskell, OK; two sisters, Lenora (Quinn) Jones of Tulsa, OK and Jan Morgan-Billingslea of Mableton, GA; brother, Darron Morgan of Tulsa, OK; other dear relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elmer Hawkins and Elnora Hawkins; his fraternal grandparents, Homer and Mae Ella Morgan, Jr.; and his brother, Derwin (Dale) Alan Morgan.
A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Monday, December 20,2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee with Rev. Jami Moss, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Cane Creek cemetery, Boynton, OK. Public visitation, Sunday, Dec. 19th in the chapel during the hours of 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
The family has been cared for by, House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee.
