“Take Me to the King’…Leon A. Wilson, age 92 , United States Army veteran and resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, slipped the bonds of this earthly realm into eternity on Monday, August 3, 2026 in Highland Park Healthcare Center, surrounded by family.
Leon served proudly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged, November 27, 1957. After his military service, he became a well-known Cab Driver for H&H Cab for many years.
Leon wasn’t married nor did he have any children of his own, but he had a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
His favorite way to show love to them was through his super creative gift giving. He never missed the holidays and never left any of the kids out. He was loved and cherished by many and will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his only living sibling, Bernice, and a host of other family members and friends.
Preceding him in death, his mother, Cecilia Wilson and father, Sandow Wilson Sr., his sisters and brothers, Florice, Teresa , Edna, Betty Lucille, Leroy, Raymond, Sandow Jr. and Marcus.
Ellie and Riley Russell are the Altar Servers. The Honorary Pall Bearers are his nephews. The Honorary Flower Bearers are his nieces.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled, Saturday, August 15, 2026, 10:00 a.m., Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church, 303 E. 3rd, Okmulgee, OK; under the direction of Rev. Ken Harder.
Mr. Wilson's final disposition was cremation.
The family has been cared for by House of Winn-Okmulgee
