Obituary

Leroy H. Anderson, age 91, a long time resident of Muskogee,OK
transitioned, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Eastar Health System.

In 1924, a blessed son was born to the proud parents of Hallard and Leontine Anderson in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the second child born out of three children. He was affectionately known as Junior.

Mr. Anderson later met and married the love of his life, Miss Fannie Robbins. To this union they were blessed with two daughters.

Junior united with the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served the Lord faithfully until his health started to fail him. He was an active member of the brotherhood and served as Deacon.

Mr. Anderson worked for the City of Muskogee in the Sanitation Department for over 35 years.

Junior went home to be with the Lord, October 27, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife and brothers, Clyde and Harold.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, two daughters, Wynona (Benny) Burton, Plano, TX; and Jacqueline (Charles) Mason, Muskogee, OK; seven grandchildren, Franchella Walker, Angella Anderson, Edward (Lois) Burton, Jean Burton, all of Plano, TX; Tonya (Richard) Atkinson and Demetrius (Arthur) Surrett, both of Broken Arrow, OK; and Crystal (Roger) Corbin, Edmond, OK; twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a special son, James Roberts, Oklahoma City, OK; a special daughter, Ruth Ann Roberts, Muskogee, OK; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and so many babies that he loved and helped raise.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Saturday, October 31, 2015, 11:00 a.m., New Zion Baptist Church, 901 N. 3rd Street, Muskogee, OK; with Rev. Gary Mitchum, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The family has been cared for by Granger-House of Winn Funeral Home.
